You know your children are being raised with a slightly different vocabulary than their peers when the first instance of name calling occurs in your house and what you hear when little sister annoys big sister is,
"Hannah you, you... SCOUNDREL!"

A Royal Visit
I recently had the king and queen here for a visit.
They really weren't so stuffy or formal as one might assume.
They really weren't so stuffy or formal as one might assume.
In fact, they were downright delightful,
and seemed to thoroughly enjoy one another's company.
My parents were able to visit for two and a half weeks in August. I was blessed to have them here and loved seeing them interact with my children. How I wish they could spend more time together!
My Daddy further blessed me by finishing (drywalling and painting) our final bedroom so Levi will have a spot once he's ready to graduate from our room. Thank you Daddy!

Christmas in August
You see that smile? The smile on the face of my "I may be younger but I grew taller than you" little sister?
Well, she better smile.
Well, she better smile.
She's holding evidence of my love for her.
Here's the scoop:
A few weeks before Christmas I e-mailed my beloved little sister in Ethiopia and inquired as to what she would like for Christmas. Postage there is a bit expensive and I wanted to be sure whatever I sent would be appreciated.
Her reply contained one item.
Only one.
This should make it easy, right?
Not exactly.
Her desire?
A nephew.
Well I can't exactly box that up and send it off through the foreign mail system, now can I?
Just barely guessing myself at that point as to what the Lord was doing within me, I laughed and thought, "wouldn't that be funny if I had a boy?!"
I wrote back saying that I might be able to fulfill that request, but she'd have to wait until August when she could come for a visit before we could know for sure.
God gave me a son... and her a nephew.
Smile away Summer, I did it all for you. =)
Merry Christmas, I love you!
The End of Summer...

Why children after the second don't have as many pictures of them as infants as the first two

Levi: 1 Month
It's hard to believe I've had the privilege of holding my little guy in my arms for a month already, but the fact that he's already over ten pounds tells me it must be true. He's gained exactly a pound a week for the past three weeks, not too bad for someone who started life by loosing too much! I've told him quite firmly that this trend cannot continue very long if he wants his poor momma to continue to carry him around.
