Happy Birthday Grandma!

Wishing we could drive by to say we love you!

Oh the similes and metaphors they come up with!

I was helping a very distracted Hannah get ready to leave the house today and asked her to sit down so I could put her socks on.  She complied and I placed one sock on her foot before she bounced up to play again.  "Hannah" I gently reprimanded, "Oh," she said, "I not a sucker, I have two feet". and promptly sat down again while I laughingly placed the sock on the other foot.

The Newest Little Red Wagenhoffer

On Friday, January 25, 2013, at 5:46 in the morning, we were privileged to welcome Miss Megan Lynn into our family.  She's an adorably tiny bundle at six pounds, four ounces and eighteen and three quarter inches long.  We are incredibly blessed!

Talking To Grandma

"Ha-da, ha-da", he says while walking around.
Imitating both a hello and the fact that Momma never sits still while on the phone.

Love Writes On Stairs

I've wanted to do it for a long time. Ever since I realized my stairs had the right number of risers, in fact. Last night, armed with a visiting mother and sister and a few sharpies, it was accomplished.

Many, many laughs and wonderful memories (and reminding the children that this was only something the adults were allowed to do) went into the writing of 1 Corinthians 13 on my stairs.

And I am THRILLED with the result.

Uniformity and perfection was discussed, but quickly dismissed as artistic flare and originality won us over.

Now I'm not quite so anxious to get real flooring as it would mean covering our delightfulness.

Karl was pleasantly surprised when he came home for the evening as we had started on a whim and completed it in less than two hours.

Now, to learn to live that which we have written.

The best building blocks we've found

There's nothing to match the excitement and energy that accompanies a new supply of toilet paper arriving at our house.

You see, it's soft, light weight and stackable, making it the ideal building block. No matter how high you stack it, no one gets a bruised head when the tower comes tumbling down.

Just don't knock it over too soon, you might get a lecture from your big sis. It has to be taller first!

How do you keep your children entertained on cold winter days?
